Saw two white rhino first up. Impala may be common but they are so graceful. They can jump 3 metres high & 10 metres wide.
Found a male lion & female walking along the river bed. They mated once but I'm sure he was after more. We had to leave when land owners arrived for their viewing( that's how the arrangement works).
Today we learnt about animal tracks, the suicide bird-he who dares swoop closest to the ground with wings closed gets the female but many don't survive-what one does for love or a quickie).
Flat tyre changed & explained by Sam.
The afternoon drive was uneventful but turned to exhilaration just as we were about to head home when 2 females & 1 cub trotting along behind them crossed our track & we were able to follow them with the spotlight for about 200 metres. This experience took cuteness to a new level. As they crossed into the river bed we ploughed through trees in the truck & reconnected with them in the riverbed. No one even took photos as it was so exciting watching them.
Returned to base at 8.30pm exhausted, ate dinner & fell into bed.
