Rhino drive with Simon, & the Geordies
An exceptional rhino experience.
Simon had us cutting down & dragging fallen trees off tracks, building track bolsters & collecting data on everything. It was a long 10 hour day but a lot of fun being outstared by curious giraffes as we had Phusa, learning about mopani trees, lead wood trees, k*** trees & amarula trees. k*** trees are rather unfriendly to animals as they release tannin so the animals can't digest the leaves & send out pheromones to warn other trees when animals are around. Only giraffes are immune to this & are able to digest the leaves. We also learnt that leopard pee smells like popcorn ( I wish Raj's pee smelt like that)
