Stampton's in Beijing
Hi All,
Just a short update on my holidays - having a great time, Beijing is a famtastic city, and it feels the safest city I have every been to, people are so friendly and helpful, language no problem at all.
This would be a great place to visit - so fascinating without the olympics being on
Travel is cheap 10 mile tube ride 50p for all 3 of us, taxi same distance £2 -
We have been to the zoo and seen the Panda's - they were great - lots of fun and activity from them, T - Square very interetsing, locals kept wanting photo's with the boys, the Forbidden city, is truly immense - went on for ages, loads of buildings and views great - no smog, blue skies everywhere.
On to the games, it was great being involved in the Olympics, the atmosphere was electric, we have seen world records, olympic records, medals of all colours for GB, stadiums/venues out of this world.
Heard the National Anthem more times than the "STARS n STRIPES" in fact Barry seen US win as many medals here as TOGO. Number 1 country after us has been China - you lot have some work to do to catch them up.
Fans have been great - super atmos at rowing and athletics - but late nights and early mornings taking there toll - so lay in today off to the wall 2morrow
see u in sept
