Were here now in San Francisco, the flight from Los Angeles was only 1 hour, we can't believe were now in yet another big city. We are staying in the Layne Hotel, which is in downtown San Francisco and only walking distance to all the major attractions. Its a really nice hotel a bit of a treat from a hostel. Yesterday we went to Pier 39, which looks out over San Francisco Bay, we got a brilliant view of the famous Alcatraz Prison and the Golden Gate Bridge. The pier is also where all the sea lions in the area seem to congregate. It was quite an attraction and loads of people had stopped to watch. San Francisco like most of the places we have been in America has been the location of many movies so we knew that it was famous for its very steep streets. Its one thing watching it on telly but another walking up them. From the guides we had read we were advised to take a look at Lombard Street, the most crooked street in the world. It was pretty amazing but we thought better of walking up it, just took a few photos. We completed our day with a look round Macys and the Cheesecake Factory.
