Day 2
Up early for a free city tour we booked the day before. It was really good value as we were out for a good 6 hours and saw loads of things we wouldn’t have got to on our own. One of the guys on our tour did a cable-guided freefall off the Sky Tower (sicko) which was good to watch. We also looked around the Americas Cup yachts, went up a volcano, crossed the bay, had a pub lunch and picked up plenty of info from the guide. Apparently there have been cases reported in Auckland bay where Dolphins have menacingly circled a family of swimmers, causing the coastguard to come out. By the time the coast guard arrived, a few Dolphins had dived down and killed a massive Great White Shark that had been trying to get at the family the whole time. Its also pretty common for them to protect pregnant women (they pick up a second heart beat using their sonar) other endangered marine life. Pretty impressive.
By the end of the tour my foot was killing me so I went to the doctors and had a antibiotic drip. They wanted me to go to hospital but it was worth trying to fix it 1st. I have to go back tomorrow and check its progress.
I tried to stay in and be good, but got too bored so me, Duncan and Wes (guy from our room) went to the casino for a little while. I won the amazing sum of $14 but Duncs’ luck on the roulette took a turn and cost him $20.
