Just checking in in a new place. final night of two here in hue. Heading 4 hours down coast tomorrow to Hoi An, guess you could say im doing the Top Gear trail backwards. Hue is nice but I expected a bit more from the place. Its cut in half by a river and on the other side of the river is a walled city which contains a citidel and a purple city, all this sounds very exciting but is infact mostly ruins. The whole city has its charm thats for sure but I was hoping for a bit more to look at! Had the most fun today as once again we headed off in convoy for the beach on mopeds, again paul let me jump on the back of his thanks to my uselessness at driving. We were quite a bit a head and lost the others so ended up driving on past the beach for a bit down some gorgeous small towns with lots of people shouting hello as we passed and some pretty impressive and slightly weird tombs scattered behind all the towns. I'm thinking that when people talk about Hue as this peaceful charming place that this is what theyre talking about rather than the new city. We rounded back and caught up with the others down the beach which was kinda grubby but still v pretty and seems only to be used by locals. After a few hours of throwing ourselves into the rather impressive waves we all headed back for some food and to rest our sunburnt selves before the journey tomorrow. (yup, thats right, finally caught some sun!) The others are all hiring minsks to do the drive down to Hoi An tomorrow but I'm grabbing a bus and meeting them there tomorrow night, kinda a shame as I'm sure it'kl be a lot of fun but didnt wanna impose on anyone to take me on the back and will be nice to have a day to myself too, plus I get a lie in!

Dad --- No it wasnt the drinking games that made me ill, this was a day after but I may have had a couple of shandys the night before, still I think it was more my body's way of telling me to get some sleep, these irish and scottish folk can talk all night and card games seem to go on till the sun comes up!

Anyway, I'm gonna make the most of my uber comfortable bed now! Love to all xxxxx
