I had the opportunity to sing and perform with a bunch of other local talents for the 114th national independence day of the Philippines. The festival like event was held at the pacific place mall with lots of spectators and shoppers! The talent showcase was held in the food court area with a big stage and a very hollow and reverberant space. The voices of people cheering, walking past, talking and inquiring at the different booths advertising all sorts of products, the performers running back and forth to change rooms and the performances being amplified on the big sound system all contributed to the big mesh of sound happening in the space. The microphones were also not mixed appropriately to the space so it was very harsh and almost piercing to the ears. As the show went on, it was better. But regardless, the spectators and people just passing by enjoyed it!
