Our last day in san francisco.....

We had alcatraz booked so we headed back down to Fishermans wharf in the morning, quite oblivious to the fact that the Olympic torch was heading through San Francisco today! SF has a large chinese community and we were soon faced with anti-Tibet protestors begining to build up along the pavements... but this didnt effect our alcatraz tour, which was slighly eeri but intersting... was a nice day so we headed up to the bridge(still no sign of the tourch and its crowds). Youd think it would be easy as pie to get up to the Golden gate... its not! 3 bus journeys later though we started to get near, although by this point I (lauren) began to panic.. the bridge phobia started to kick in as the bus looked like it was about to drive right across it, and i wasnt prepared! Luckily we were dropped of just before and there were amazing veiws and was a good photo opportunity :). After a few more bus ordeals we got back to the hostel, and went for dinner at an American diner wooo! Although again still jet lagged we soon headed back to the squeaky bunks! Oh ....so yep completely missed the torch and its parade, so we wernt around when you were looking out for us on the news!

Our last morning in San Fran.... got prepared for our long flight ahead and while waiting for our shuttle when to the 'store' to get some american food bites. Little did we know that we were actually going to be at the airport for 8 HOURS!!
