DAY THREE THURSDAY 24TH NOVEMBER
I am writing thursdays entry from the comfort of the singapore airlines business lounge at Hong Kong airport but more about that later! Well the day began with us waking late again. We set out to Lantau island to go and see the bronze buddha at the temple, of which i cant remember the name. We got the MTR underground on an all day pass that was only 3 pound 50 for the whole day. When we got there we had to get a cable car to the temple, It took about 30 mins and was very high but had good views of the mountains and airport and also when we got nearer, the budha. The only problem was we took one photo after we stepped off the cable car and our camera battery ran out, as you can imagine i was not best pleased and had to slum it with a disposable! Therefore there wont be many photos of that for a while (im sure you will all be sad about that!?) It was absolutly huge at least 40m (well thats Pauls estimate), its sat on top of a mountain and at the top of lots of steps (320 to be exact). Those steps were a killer, especially since my legs still hurt from the day before. It was impressive but once you had climbed it and had a look at it there wasnt alot else to do, there were a few other attractions but they cost pennies and looked quite boring. We then went back as it was already quite late, we bought some chopsticks in one of the nice looking shops, (dont all laugh, might use them at some point but they are a good souvinier). Disney was on the way back, we went to see if they did a late entry reduction fee but they didnt so we deceided it wasnt in the budget. We went back and packed then that night went over to Hk island and found a place called lan guai fong, this was like Magaluf but a little oriental and better looking. This is obviously where the tourists congregate and i think alot of english business people. There were lots of bars dotted all the way up a steep hill playing lots of good cheesy tunes. Had some food i again had fish and veg but piggy Paul had a burger and chips, it looked and tasted good though. Had couple of drinks and then went to find these escolators that run above the streets through SOHO and BOHO, paul moaned that it was a waste of time and when we got there it was although it was quite a nice area, well most of it was. Then went and bought a hard rock HK glass, had to be done, well in my eyes anyway.
Hope you have all checked out our photos and you all need to get on my message board, Mary and Kate email me cause i think ive got your wrong addresses keep trying to email you but wont work.
LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL LOADS LAURA AND PAULXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
