We have now crossed into Kenya and we had an armed guard as we travelled through the North Kenya desert, as it is quite dangerous!
Went to Samburu National Park for a few days and saw loads: Zebras, Grevys Zebras, Lots of differnet types of antelope, Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants, Giraffes, Warthog. We have roof seats on the truck so we can sit on the roof while we drive through the Parks (im sure the lion was eying up how to get to us!)
The best bit of the trip so far has to be visiting the Samburu tribe. They were absolutely amazing and even helped us with the washing up in their full tribal gear! They performed some traditional dances for us around the fire, guess who got dragged up to join them!? It was so much fun, and we didnt get pestered like when we visited the Omo tribes! We visited their village the next day where they performed a welcome song and showed us into their houses and had a look around the market! Could have spent so much time with them!
We were then supposed to go onto Lake Naivasha and Nakuru but because of the violence we re-routed to Mount Kenya where we had a couple of days R and R. I had my first hot shower in 3 weeks! And they had toilets that flush (very exciting after 3 weeks of squat toilets! The grossest thing ever invented!)
And now, here I am in Nairobi! Off to Carnivores tonight, an all you can eat meat buffet, with loads of African Game Meat! We are all very excited as we have been living on coleslaw as food has been very hard to get hold of! Havnt been able to get hold of Vodka either (panic!), so i've been drinking beer! You will see my beer gut before you see me when I get home!
Off on a 3 day Masai Mara Safari soon and then join my next trip on Monday! Internet should get a lot better from now, so hopefully i'll be able to keep you posted more regularly. Hopefully the roads will to, only just started travelling on roads that arent dirt, we have had about 5 blow-outs and broken down on numerous occasions!
Miss you all loads
