The next step on the journey is to Surat Thani, we made our way on the overnight train from Chiang Mai back to Bangkok, and then spent a day relaxing around Bangkok - well as much as you can relax in Bangkok, before meeting a tour group that we would be making our way through Southern Thailand with.
The next evening was another overnight train to Surat Thani, the overnight train was on time which was a surprise to us all. We had breakfast in a local restaurant which with a group of 18 that had been sleeping on a train last night seemed a mission to do and get the correct food. Then was a 2 hour drive to where we would be spending the next 2 nights this was in a Songtaew (a large tuk tuk) - there was around 9 in each with all the luggage on top.
We checking to where we would be staying which was what looked like beach huts in the jungle - they had hammocks outside which was cool. We were warned about Monkeys trying to get our food in the night so not to leave anything around - the thought went through our heads of how do the monkeys get into these huts, but they must have done in the past.
For the next 2 days we went around the National Park and swimming in the river - the things you should be doing on holiday! We were going to do tubing - but its dry season here so there wasn't enough water for us to do it.
