Laura & Lucy Around The World!
Hi guys,
Hope you are all well?
Well we finally made it to KL after our 21 hour bus journey which ended up not being too bad. We were on a VIP bus for the last 10 hours with reclining seats, foot rests and everything!!! Apart from some girl ralphing within the first 5 minutes!!! Lucy got told off on the Malaysian border for not having her shoes on - stuck in the Thailand way of life!!!
After arriving at 5am we were conned into a hostel that looked pretty decent from the photos but ended up being a cross between a prison/hell and a s*** hole! No really its not that bad! In the cold light of day it is only a couple of those things! It is safe and the owners are friendly and we barely spend any time in there anywhere. It is only costing us 2 quid each a night so we cant complain. We are right overlooking the street in China Town and we get woken up every morning by beeping horns, hustle and bustle and indian music. That is if we cant here the people praying in the mosque underneath our feet!!!
Spent the first day exploring China Town and Little India. Caught up on some sleep too!!! Must make a point about the men here. There seem to be no women anywhere so we are getting glared at constantly. KL is a massive mix of religions too from Muslim to Hindu to Buddist. Lots of Muslim round here though and twice we have had men walk past us and hold their breath. Maybe we need to take more showers?!?!
On the second day (yesterday - Monday) we headed out into the city and went to the KL Tower which is the 4th highest communication tower in the world. Had a trip up there which had some awesome views of the city! Then we went to the Twin Towers (not sure what they are called) they were pretty impressive and have a massive shopping centre next door with every designer under the sun in there, including a Topshop and a Marks & Spencers (mums u would have loved it!!) Ate our body weight in dunkin doughnuts and then walked down to the Golden Triangle where there are more shops and loads of restaurants.
Last night whilst in an internet cafe, Lucy bumped into her ex boyfriend Lee's cousin called Dan, who she hadnt seen since she was in Australia. Very random. Had brekkie with him today and gonna go for a bite to eat with him tonight.
Just gonna chill out today and sort ourselves out for tomorrow when we are heading to Singapore. We are going to be staying with Liz's brother James' friends who have a house there with a pool and a washing machine we have heard!!! Its the small things that really matter nowadays. To be honest it couldnt get much worse than where we are staying now! The boys are actually in KL on business today so we are gonna give them a ring as they mentioned that we could get a lift with them so that we dont have to get the bus! neece one!!!
Still loving it - apart from that we both have PMT this week! Good luck to the lads - we hope they have a good stash of chocolate and all things fattening!
Will update again from Singapore and get our piccies on within the next few days.
Love and miss u all lots

p.s. we forgot to mention in our Phi Phi journal about the meaning of our tattoos. The star represents "A star for the souls that were lost". Obviously referring to the Tsunami. We thought this made them that extra bit special xxx
