First thing Thursday morning we visited the Mount of the Beatitudes, where David Young recited parts of the Sermon on the Mount. We sang He Leadeth Me. The only problem was that we didn't have enough time here.
The second stop was at Korazim, where Steve posed next to the seat of Moses. Jesus told the people here that they would be "brought low" because they did not follow his teachings.
The third stop was Hazor. This was a major city of the near East. At one time, 15,000 people lived in this city. David believes that one day a library will be discovered here.
From here we could see the snow on top of Mt. Herman. Mt Herman is the dividing point between Israel and Syria. It is believed to be the site of the transfiguration.
Then we drove North through the Jordan Valley, with the Golan Heights to our right, toward Dan.
After Dan, we saw Caesarea Phillipi, which is Banias on the map. There was a temple of Pan, and a temple of Zeus. As we left Banias, we could see Nimrod's fortress.
Our last stop was near Merom Golan. We were at a bunker used by the Israeli military at the border with Syria. We could see the UN facility. On the way back to Tiberius, we saw several military outposts.
