After a quick swim at the pool on the way out we left Etosha and headed south. It was a lomg hot drive and we decided to stop at a campsite we passed by the side of the road just outside Karibib mainly because the sign said it had a pool! It was a lovely little lodge and campsite on the top of a hill with fantastic views across the scrub land. The farm was home to variety of buck including kudu and eland, who often visited the camp in the evening to eat the plants. A little monkey also lived there although he spent most of his time in the duck cage chasing the ducks around the tiny pond as he was a little mischievous and distructive when people came to stay in the camp. The farm is often used as a base for hunting so there were plenty of stuffed examples around as well as left over horns. The hill also had a couple of hiking trails which Kenan, Kelsey. Jimmy and I as well as Lesley and Simon walked along. nice views but no animals.
Everyone headed for the pool once the tents were up and despite some of us still being fully dressed and with the kitty and car keys in her pockets we all went swimming!!! Pulled by my legs by the Kotze brothers! and then later pushed in backwards by both Jo and Kenan NICE! We had to spread all the Namibian dollars out on the tables to dry.
Anyway...
It was a lovely campsite and we had the pleasure of Simon cooking his first braii of boerewors (Beef sausage) for us (poor bloke under the scrutiny of the boys) It was cooked to perfection and very nice!
