After the Safari we headed again for the coast only this time it was the lake.We spent the night at CapeMaclear in Fat monkeys camp site. This place is supposed to be a fantastic place with great reviews and very popular, it was only we are not sure why?The staff were clueless, they had people turning up all afternoon who had booked but the place was full and no-one could explain the mix ups?The place was in a lovely setting right by the waters edge but they crammed so many tents into the postage stamp sized campsite that you couldn't move, it was also so noisy it was impossible to sleep, well for me at least but not old mr snorey mcsnore. The other major downside was that the beach was a cut through for the locals so you got asked 27 million times per page of your book if you wanted to buy bananas or fish or necklaces or boat trips, unfortunately despite the perfect English they didn't seem to understand "no" and each one would try in turn, the problem was they had all obviously been trained by the double glazing or time-share school of telephone sales as you were told their name and asked how you were and for your name and I just want a chat I'm not selling anything oh but actually here is some fish!!! First, even in the camp you weren't safe, one girl was walking back from the shower wearing a towel and she was stopped!!!Suffice to stay after a hasty breakfast we headed on up the coast for a more peaceful place.
