L & L Shenanigans
We arrived in Gladewater, late as usual, but Rita (my lovely sister) had delicious lasagna waiting for us. Neil (Rita's husband), Rita, and their boys, Riley, and Blake all waited up for us to arrive. It was nice to have such a great welcome party. Poor Neil and I made quite the pair during our time in East Texas, as he injured his ankle the weekend before. He was hobbling around and soaking his foot in ice water pretty frequently.
I had a pretty laid back week. I worked, went to the grocery store with Rita and Lydia (Rita's daughter and youngest child), and watched movies with the boys when they were around. Lewis had a much more exciting time with the boys. On Friday night my nephews Stephen and Jacob Smith came over and enjoyed delicious fajitas that Rita and I made (seriously, so good).
Here is Lewis' chronicling of events:
Children adore me! Well, at least most of them do. I know my nephews, Riley and Blake do. I adore them too. We had all kinds of adventures. One day they spent all day with me. One day previous, I had bribed them to help out around the house doing whatever I asked them to do. They agreed and the next day we headed to Toys-R-Us and Wal-Mart to look for Legos. We found a few that the boys liked and had enough money for. Afterwards we got donuts, headed home, and took the dog to the vet. Those boys had to sit in a little vet's office with me and all the dogs and cats and owners for at least an hour. No complaints whatsoever! I can't recall the order that we did everything the rest of the week but we had fun! We hiked by the lake with Lola, explored Old Gladewater, read books, went antiquing, toured the museum, and went for a swim at Grandma's house! I must have worn them out because they were cranky at the end of the day.
