Lena's latest entry
Lilongwe, Malawi
This week marked the celebration of independence in two of my homes. Of course, the United States celebrated its 241st year of freedom on July 4th. While Malawi, my newest home, celebrated its 53rd year of freedom on July 6th.
I love the fourth of July in the US, it's a wonderful celebration, but the closest thing we have to a "theme" is…
Lena VanAusdle haha Gayle, it's so good!
re: The Great State of Texas (23a of 52)Lucretia strange When you were back with us you mentioned ordering the 99 cent book and that it had not arrived. Glad to know that you finally got it and your letters. I am still going to try and get a letter off as often as I can. Take care

re: Hit the Ground Running (25 of 52)Gayle Hoefker Thanks for your openness Lena! And thanks for enduring all the inconveniences in serving the brethren. One positive thing about inconveniences--it makes for good blog material! Have a super day!
re: Hit the Ground Running (25 of 52)Gayle Hoefker Menudo is popular in Colombia, too, but I do not share your fascination of it!

re: The Rains Down in Africa 7/52Denise Oh wow, this entry made me all teary, which doesn't often happen. What an eventful blog, with the Kubiks' arrival, hot water, border crossing again, Bible study with drunk visitors, and the stories of Alyda and Alfred and his family. How amazing. Thank you, Lena. You and Lewis and the brethren are in our prayers. Have a wonderful Passover and feast. Much love!
