Sick, sick, sick. I am now sick from sleeping in freezing cold hostels, waiting for hours in freezing cold bus stops and train stations, and trekking through freezing cold...coldness. But I'm back now...and at least I'm warm. We started off staying at a hostel in bath and met a girl named Dominique from Australia who was traveling by herself. Bath was dumb because it rained and our "family bath time" in Bath joke turned into a stupid, stupid reality. lol. It was better in the morning though, when we took a bus to Wells, which I am in love with for it's little winding alleyways and AMAZING cornish pasties. That was the day that we went to Wookey Hole which is one of the places that I wanted to revisit from my childhood. It was alot of fun to be reminded of details from the legend of Wookey that I had forgotten. I love that place because they have a pier arcade, caverns, mirror mazes, fairy forests, dinosaurs.... pretty much all I could ever want...lol. We took a train from there to Plymouth and played there the next day. We basically just walked around there and took pictures. We went and saw the lighthouse, the Mayflower steps...and the National marine aquarium giftshop.lol. I bought a lobster. Oh..by the way.... I am so angry at tourist attractions here!!! Nobody sells T-Shirts and that's just dumb. The only places that I have seen T-shirts were at the British Museum and stonehenge.. 1st...I LIVE at the British museum..... and I don't want to have to look at it on my chest too. I would only get a shirt there if it said "I lived practically next door to the British Museum and my bible teacher made me spend a minimum of two hours there each week collecting dates from artifacts, but nothing that might actually enhance or further my knowledge about them, let alone the bible. I actually learned more today than I ever have, overhearing a tourguide talk to some random people about Tiglath Pilezar." Yep, I would totally buy that... And stonehenge.......after going an 8th time just to have your ears frozen off and watch people eat cheese scones.....nope.
I'm wondering if my malady is making me a little bit more pessimistic than I usually am...
Anyway, or second day we went to Lydford Gorge!!! We were really lucky to have such good weather and all the waterfalls looked amazing. ... WAY fun.
At the Plymouth hostel, we roomed with a girl from Spain named Regina. She ONLY spoke Spanish. Communicating with her was funny. The next day we went to Dartmoor Zoological Park and got to look at Ostriches and foxes and Lynxes, and |Servals, and Lions, and Tigers, and Pumas, and a Jaguar. Then we went to this close encounters thing and I held a curly hair Tarantula named Queen Isabella, and a madagascar hissing cockroach, and a stick insect from Africa. This was fun..... but I still don't want to be and Entymologist. I don't care what Dr. Goy says. The next day we played in Beer and Seaton. We were going to go to Brighton, but decided that we actually had to do our British Museum reports instead..... and that's why half of my report is finished.....and I don't care. I'm doing it tomorrow. It's me against the MAN.
Thank you Lord for the ability to find that happy place.
