After a sleep in this morning, we woke up to some messages from Pancho asking where we were (at 9:30am, where do you think we were?) then saying he was going for a walk with Nina before she got on her bus to Galway, where she was visiting a friend for a couple of days. We got up and got ready and chilled out in the common room for a while to wait, but after watching the end of the movie, Jingle All The Way, we decided to just go get ourselves some lunch. So we went downstairs, discovered it was raining, went back upstairs for the umbrella, then went outside, realised it was too windy for the umbrella, then put the umbrella back inside, went back outside then ended up just going to the pub next door as the weather was so horrible! I got a salad sandwich and Darren got bangers and mash, and I got a hot coffee which was great after those 20 seconds in the freezing wind! We had a chat there and ate our lunch then headed back to the hostel. Pancho had told the girl on reception that he was back, and for us to knock on his door, so I went to do that, but got no answer, so we just went to the common room and played guitar with Larisa and Sean. Darren got some soloing tips from Sean (introducing blue notes into his pentatonic scales) so Darren had a new technique to play with for a while. After a while Larisa had to go to work, so we kept playing with Sean and eventually Pancho woke up and joined us. The three of us left after a while to go and get some subway, but we stopped at a small takeaway place called Maguires, where Darren and I chose to try a baguette sub type sandwich instead, then went to subway for Pancho to get his. We stopped by an off license on the way back for some more beer, then spent a decent amount of hours at a table in the common room just drinking and jamming and doing a few covers here and there, including 'Falling Slowly' which was requested by a Korean girl there. We ended up having many many drinks and playing lots of music and eventually Larisa got back from work and joined us with her guitar that she'd picked up from her parents place. So we were all jamming together, drinking and having a good time when a guy with dreads got up and turned on the radio right next to us... Rude... So Darren confronted him about it, and he said he didn't do it and turned it off again. After a while though, we packed up our guitars and went to see if someone's room was free that we could jam in. Pancho's room had four people in there, two didn't mind but the other two did, so we had a look in Larisa's and Sean's rooms, which both had sleepers, then finally went to ours, which was free! No one even in there! So we claimed that, freed a few beers from the vending machine downstairs then all had an amazing jam together. We kept swapping guitars and would take it in turns to write a song, which all ended up being about very silly things! After a bit the girl from our room who had checked in that afternoon came in, so we thought the party was over, but she was totally cool with the jam session, and even joined us in making up crazy lyrics! So we jammed for quite a while longer before everyone eventually trickled back off to their rooms, and we eventually got to bed at some ridiculous hour of the morning.
