Ecuador 2006
Today we visited an animal rescue reserve in a town about 9 km north of Puyo called Fatima. As soon as we arrived a small baby monkey walked up to me and wanted to be held. Its mother had been killed when he was taken from the forest to be sold on the street. He was eventually found and rescued by the people who operated the animal reserve. He wanted to be held because he hadn't been feeling very well the last couple of days and because he was so young. When I tried to leave him on the ground he wrapped his little tail around my leg and held on tight. He was very cute.
We are still in Puyo and tomorrow we may head up north a few hours to Tena.
