Hi Kim! You Rock!!! Your pictures are cool! I am going to the lake with my Dad and brother for a week. I hope I can see Ecuador with you some day.

Kim,
You are an incredible person with a heart of gold... no platinum! I am so honored to have been in the same nursing class as someone so dedicated to changing the world. I will make a mark also but my passion lies in the geriatric field as you know. I want you to call me when you are back in town, we can do lunch or coffee or take a walk. Your beauty shines on me even from Ecuador!

Hey Kimmie
We miss you, come back!!! It is awesome that you have such a wonderful opportunity to travel and see parts of the world, we can only imagine!! Can't wait to see you when you get home.....Robert asked about you the other day, I told him you were swinging through the trees in Ecuador with the monkey.....hehehe!!
Love ya, Gina

Hey there....man you guys are doing such great stuff....i'm glad to hear that you are out of the danger zone for the volcano...that train rides sounds great and scary all at the same time....we were so close to doing that last year....keep having fun and being safe...love B
I got back from Kentucky about a week ago and I'm getting geared up to move into a new place and to start nursing school...yikes... love ya

Hey Kim~
Looks like you're having a great time. It's been so much fun following your adventures. My co-workers and I check in on you every week or so. If you ever decide to be a tour guide, there may be a gang here at UWMC ready to tag along :)
Very resourceful finding pizza in South America! I'll bet it tasted a lot better than guinnea pig. Happy travels. Can't wait to see the rest of your pictures when you get back... Juli

I think Terry might want a giant cow for Christmas this year. Seriously, though, bring home the monkey. You and Justin can dress him up like the neighbors'. Looks like you're having a good time. We're enjoying the pictures. The countryside is gorgeous. Keep having fun, and DON'T spend a lot of time studying.
TJ
Sorry, my last message was in invisible ink.
Hurray for the giant Riobamba Cow Statue! Hurray for all giant things!
The active volcano seems to be causing some grief. How far away are people being evacuated (and how close are you!)?
*******
Hey TJ! Im glad you liked the cow statue. It was in the center of a traffic circle, painted more like a zebra than a cow. Ya never know what you´ll see in Ecuador.
Im now about 2 hours away from Banos, the town that sits at the base of the volcano thats erupting. Its nice to be this far away. We were very close when it first went off, in Riobamba. Worst case scenerio the volcano could potentially wipe out Banos, Riobamba and Ambato, but that would be the absolute worst case. It has been active for years, this was the first time since 1999 that there was so much activity and lava. The first night many tourists fled to Riobamba from Banos. Now many tourists are heading to Banos to see the volcano...which I am not interested in doing. Its kind of nice because in Puyo I havent seen any tourists, which is odd for this time of year. In Banos they have evacuated 4 small villages that were way up the side of the mountain. One child has died but it was not in the lava it was caused by all the ashes and respiratory problems he had. Many animals have died however in the lava and rocks that the volcano throws out. There is no way that the volcano can get to us now, so I am happy!!
