So back in Christchurch - staying at Thomas' Backpackers right across from the Arts Centre and just down the road from Hagley Park - awesome spot (ladies right near the markets in Catherdral Sq where we shopped before getting on the tram)
Let it be said that I heart Christchurch, could def set up permenant residency! Got a job at a cafe in Ferrymead and remembered quite quickly the reason I no longer work in food - one of the girls J used to go to Sandgate High - lol such a small world hey! Love a shop called Glassons (clothes) and that they have Starbucks everywhere (clearly unlike Aus no need to shut down anystores) its too damn cold without coffee people would freeze and be way too cranky! hmm what else some awesome clubs - like Iconic Bar.
Ended up moving in with Cath who is originally from England in Merivale and she is fabulous loved living with her and Tiger (her very spoilt but very cute cat, hes part of the family) was nice to have a room again and the bed lord so much nicer than the hostel ones I was used to. Hired a car headed to Akeroa which is about an hour and a half sout east of Christchurch they are a little french provience and everything is Le or La - Le Mini gold, La Hotel - truely its very quant and nice the road trip there and back was stunning such awesome view.
New Brighton has an awesome beach if it was warm enough to swim its just outside of Redciff (add and E and Id be home) followed the mountains one day for hours such awesome scenery, visited a few Gorges and little country towns - now I in no way sound English but everywhere you go - oh how long have you been here for and your from England? Ah no not sure how they come to that conclusion but eh when in Rome.
Met some great people, went on a date with a guy whos anonimity we will protect - he took me to see Ice Age!! Very funny movies there was a scene where they made a comment about gas (Bridget) and I laughed so hard not sure what that said about me but def one to take the kids too dont know if I would advise for a first date though!
So you could say I am fitting in nicely with the locals!
