I have posted some pics!! Sorry again about the delay - I finally was able to get everything working correctly. Courtney and I went to 4 museums today, so I will post some more pics really soon.
Speaking of museums...today we visited the Musee de Orsay, the Rodin Museum, the Army National Museum (where Napoleon's tomb is located), and the Pompinou Cultural Center.
We walked and walked and walked some more, and we have made it successfully back to our room. Courtney and I are feeling very proud of ourselves because we decided to walk from the Army National Museum to the Pompinou (not a short distance I tell you), and we got to see some really neat parts of the city that we wouldn't have been able to if we had taken the Metro.
The museums were all wonderful, particularly the Orsay. We saw amazing works by Monet, Manet, Renoit, Cezanne, Degas, Van Gogh, Klimt, and many many others. At the Rodin, we stood in front of the "Thinking Man" and we took pictures of Napoleon's tomb at the Army Museum. For such a small man, everything he created in life and death was extremely large. I have never seen such a large coffin!!
I could spend a large portion of the evening discussing the bizarre nature of the Pompidou. We are so glad we went because it was a source of many laughs. I really cannot explain in words how strange this modern artwork truly was, but hopefully you will understand when I post some pics. We saw an exhibit called "Gential Panic" which will probably give both of us nightmares! :)
All in all, we had another wonderful day. Tomorrow we will be visiting Notre Dame as well as Monmarte and the Sacre Coeur - which is supposed to have the most beautiful views in Paris. We leave tomorrow evening for Amsterdam, so I am sure I will have many interesting posts in the near future.
Thanks so much for all the messages! We really enjoy reading them. Hope you like the pictures. I will try my best to add captions and short descriptions soon.
Until next time...
