Looking back at the photos from the start of the treatments we are seeing a big difference.
There isn't the "redness" or "dryness" especially on Kobi's legs. There hasnt been as much "itching" the past few days, but we having been keeping busy or distracting with doing things.
It has now been over 2 weeks of "normal" going to sleep at night without any medication, and about 4-5 days off antihistamines. This is a HUGE step for Kobi as this is something we had to do daily just to be able to do normal things and going out so he wouldn't be itchy.
The mornings have been a little chilly and the days have been sunny, the nights get cold again but the weather has been a nice temperature as not too hot/cold for Kobi and his skin.
Sunday is the "Day off treatments" so we had planned to go on a little outing.
This time we were going to head northish. We wanted to visit a Buddist Temple we were told about & go to Grotte de Labeil (underground caves). So after our sleep in we packed the car and off we went. We had planned our route & wanted to take the countryside roads again not the motorway etc.
We got to the temple site only to find out that tours start at 2pm and it was only 12:30 and freezing, so we took afew photos and off we went again.
Plan was to go to the Grotte for lunch. Well we somehow went the wrong way around to the way we had planned, but stopped in a little village for Kobi to be feed & we had a coffee and took afew pics. There was this huge tree that had been carved out with animals and people on it, quite amazing really. So off again we went. We were looking for a park or swings or something for Kobi to have a run around and burn off some energy. Well you wouldn't beleive it, we seriously could not find one anywhere (apart from the swings sets in people's backyards we kept seeing and Kobi was like "there mummy").
We came across this little village called Le Cros, the people that lived there must have liked their flowers and gardens. The rock walls werent plain they had flowers planted in them and there was lots of pretty little steps with pot plants up them. Very cute so took afew nice photos there. Oh and thats where Kobi "phoned" Daddy and told him what we were doing on the old school phone in a stone hut.
We then went off to get to the Grotte (Caves), great views coming down the hill and looking down through the valley. Didn't end up going onto the caves as it was late but we had a look through the cave shop.
So then off again home via Lodeve (where we knew there was a park for Kobi to have a play at), we arrived and he had just fallen asleep. But we got out and he played with the local kids in the playground and had fun running around and climbing the Pirate ropes. By this time it was time to head back to get Kobi dinner, so off we went the same way we had always been only to come across marshals on the road and it was blocked off, from what we could understand the road was meant to reopen at 5pm and it was 5:30 so we were wondering what was going on and didn't know any other way to get back home. Lucky one of the marshals spoke English. It was a Car race "Rally" and we had to wait for them all to come through before we could go. So we parked up and Kobi was busy waving to all the drivers as they passed through, one driver even stopped and did I a burnout for Kobi "poo stinky" Kobi said! Ha ha
Made it home and then out for dinner to the restuarant again. We are now dining each night with Rodney (from Newcastle) & Miri & Eitan (from Israel) which is nice as we chat about the days outings & enjoy the conversation over dinner..
A new "batch" of people arrived yesterday (Sunday) so it was new faces at the restuarant and some people from the Gold Coast- so I gave them a quick lowdown on where to go, when things are closed open etc etc. it's always helpful when people pass the info on.
Mum has taken Kobi for today's treatment & then going to have a Nana Nap with him when they get back. Not really a day for doing too much as it is overcast but quite chilly. I might venture down the road in the car to the shops but I'll see how they are when they get back.
I'm having problems with this website at the moment not allowing me to upload my photos to the albums, however I can do some on Kobi's Crusade Facebook page, so check there also.
All in all we are well, things seem to be heading in the right direction (although Kobi has had infection whilst being here, but we have antibiotic cream for the spots)
Thank you all for your messages, and we read them daily to Kobi, he likes hearing from everyone & we keep him upto date with showing him photos etc on Facebook also ( he stills thinks we can just drive down the road to see people, doesn't really understand we are the other side of the world!)
Take care,
Much love,
Megz, Kobi & Nana Vivi xoxo
