We have completed day 3 & 4 of Kobi's treatments now and it seems that being prepared with an iPhone on hand & the art of distraction with toys is how we are going to get through each treatment day.
Kobi arrives each morning with a freshly picked flower for the reception lady who gives him his robe & off he goes to meet the other kids in the change room to get dressed for treatments.
Off he goes for the "bubble bath" and he really loves floating & splashing around.
He has a general shower & general spray with alternate days of Avene' water compresses & local face spray.
It takes us about 1 1/2hrs as we just cruise through then get changed, we fill up our bottles of "magic Avene' Water" then Kobi has a little treat after each treatment & we sit outside the centre before we head back to our apartment.
Kobi has flared since starting his treatments & is super itchy, but we are just dealing with it & trying to get him to "rub" not scratch, easier said than done. I'm looking forward to doing the workshop next week where they teach alternatives & show techniques on applying creams etc.
On Wednesday we decided to take a trip to Lodeve, it's about 45mins northish of Avene' as we needed to find a bigger supermarket that sold Rice Milk. The drive was really pretty, however it's quite funny listening to Mum talk back to the Sat Nav every time it told her she was "over the speed limit" when we were going about 20kms hr!
Finally after driving through, over & around the lane ways and streets we found the supermarket on the outskirts & got our extra supplies.
We thought it would be nice to get some takeaway lunch from a patisserie & just go sit in a park & Kobi could scooter around & get some fresh air.
On the way home we wanted to stop and get some pictures of some of the beautiful countryside & little towns. We stopped in Lunas which was really cute & got some lovely pics then went up this road to "turn around" which we ended up trying to getting out of a rabbit warren without swiping our side mirrors off the car!!! Ha ha
Anyway, made it home then got Kobi sorted then off for dinner.
We are cooking for Kobi in the apartment as it is easier with what he can/can't eat & Mum & I have breakfast & dinners included. Breakfast is at our residence in the "common" breakfast room & Dinner is down the road at the restaurant with a 3 course set menu each night & our same table. The meals are lovely & quite fancy, however dinner doesn't start until 7:15pm so by the time we get home it's 9pm & Kobi is either asleep or close to it. So we take the car each night- even though it's only about 700m or so but it's up stairs & a hill so too far to carry Kobi.
Today it was "Mini Golf" from 2-4pm down at the park so off we went, I went for some "Chillout time" & Kobi & Nana Viv played mini golf.
It's down next to the restaurant & children's playground, but it's right next to the river/stream so you have to be careful with kids.
Kobi has been super itchy & we are trying to get him off as much medication as we can while we are here, however with his flare ups mealtimes & when he is sitting down is just a constant itch itch itch for at least 20-40 minutes. It's been taking about an hour to feed him each time with is the most challenging time, that's when Mum has been my saviour as it seems that Kobi is being more receptive to her and it's just stressing my out.
Well it's time to get some warmer clothes on and go for dinner.
Till our next blog,
Much love,
Megan, Kobi & Nana Viv XOXO

mkldred downs Its been good to fine this blog section, and get a bit more news. How long does Kobi's treatment last each day, sounds like you have quite a bit of spare time to do some sight-seeing. It will be good for you to be able to discuss things next week. Thinking of you. Lots of love again. Gma
