Today was our first full day in Dublin. We got into Dublin yesterday after getting off the ferry from Holyhead Wales (via 3+ hour train ride from London). Once we got out of London we saw some really pretty English/Welsh countryside, very green, lots of sheep, horses, and hills. Our original ferry (which was a catamaran style "fast ferry") was cancelled due to weather. Instead we took a much larger "super ferry", which looked mote like a cruise ship than what I would call a ferry. The reason our "fast ferry" was canceled was due to gale force winds and rough seas. This made portions of our ferry trip pretty interesting. For about 1 hour we had some pretty nerve racking waves ( approx. 15-20 feet high). It was difficult to walk on the ferry due to all the rolling of the boat. One of the waves we hit send dishes crashing in the on-board restaurant. Fast forward to today; we did a tour of a mid-evil prison, toured the Guinness Brewery, and did the Dublin Ghost Bus tour(ride in tour bus as actor/guide told ghost stories of Ireland's past), it was pretty fun. Tomorrow we will grab a rental car and head tithe west coast of Ireland. I'm sure once we get a better Internet connection Kelly will update photos.
