Kirsty's Travels
I did it! I did it! I did it! Oh my gosh it was the most amazing thing ever!
Guys, about 2 hours ago i bungy jumped off a 108m platform, freefell for 60m and then went into a 200m swing! The shotover canyon swing and then guess what? I did it again only this time i was strapped to three garden chairs and i went out backwards!!!!! It was without a doubt the scariest thing i have ever done in my life! Even scarier than the skydive because i had to actually jump myself! When i was all harnessed up i was stood leaning over the side and looking down and i really thought i wouldnt be able to do it. Then at the last second i just took a few steps back and then lunged forward with my arms outstretched. I really felt like i was flying, especially when i went into the swing. It was the biggest rush ever so i had to do it again. There are hundreds of different jumps you can do including upside down or with a dustbin over ur head etc. But for my second jump i chose to be strapped to the chair as you get to swing backwards and you go as if you're falling off of it backwards! The guys who harnessed me up decided to mess with my head big style! They were telling me that because to do a second jump cost far less they wouldnt take all of the safety precautions that they took in the first and one of the guys told me to tuck my legs under the chair so that i didnt kick him when i swung out and he also said that if i did kick him he would cut my chord! Then to top it all of when i slowly started swing back and forth on my chair just at the point of no return the guys pulled me back! So i felt the relief of letting go only to have to go through it all again! (this happened three times!) On the last go, i swung out so quickly that my chair did a loop the loop! Oh gosh it was such an amazing experience and i was buzzing after. I still am!!!
Anyway not too much else to report other than im having the time of my life! Im staying in Queenstown till Saturday and then heading to Christchurch.
Think im going to go and chillout now!I Need a cuppa tea!
Lots of love from Kirsty xxxx
