Hi guys!
Had the best day today which simply consisted of a group of about 10 of us heading over to Bondi Beach! It's so iconic i couldn't come here without checking it out. Although i was surprised by how far it was from the centre - we had a twenty minute walk followed by a 40 minute bus ride to get there but it was totally worth it in the end. Weirdly the bus tickets can only be bought from a general store (like our co op) before you can get on the bus. They have a machine which validates them however it doesnt know how far you're travelling so we can buy a return fair for 2 dollars :) (it pays to know the locals!) The beach itself is pretty big, reminded me slightly of Cornwall, the only differences being the colonial style houses and shop parade lining the beach front as well as the hot sun and HUGE waves. They were incredible today and the life guards were out in full force - i think me and Thereasa must have spent a good half hour watching them work whilst the boys tired themselves out in the sea with a ball. But it was definitely a successful days tanning i have a decent bit of colour! It was also amazing watching the people surfing you have no idea how tough it is! I have a new level of respect for the people that do they were getting ruined by the waves and tumbled along before having to get back up before the next one hit. They were brutal! But what was great to see was literally anyone and everyone with a surfboard - every little kid here is surfing from about the age of 7 or 8 they all had mini surfboards it was great. Having a night in tonight though which has allowed me to catch up with this blog - apologies for the lack of contact! Please email me if you want to skype its so lovely hearing from you - I would love to tell you that i miss you all terribly and i am awfully homesick but everyone has just made me feel so welcome that i'm really ok!! Having the time of my life and thinking this is definitely the best decision i ever made! Lots of love xxx
