Hi guys,
Great to hear things from you! Today basically i went sightseeing and was a proper tourist for the day! I went out with Thereasa who is a girl i met from leeds - who is weirdly staying in the room opposite with the friends of the guys in my room! We took the free bus which ran from pretty much right by the hostel (we are on the busiest road in the city) all the way to Circular Quay. This is the Sydney harbour that you all know. Walking out of the station was incredible as the bridge utterly dominated the view of the bay it is MASSIVE and not white as i thought but very solid/stout and grey. It was amazing and it was then that it really hit home that i'm here, i made it and all those months of hard work paid off! So we walked along the side towards the bridge which is called "the rocks". This is an upmarket development area that is a cross between london docklands, regent street and camden - literally the only way i can think to describe it. What was also great was that Australian fashion week is going on so there were models and make up artists everywhere and we got to see behind some of the shows as the hall they were using was really open plan. Anyway from this side of the harbour we had a fantastic view of the Opera house which is a lot smaller than i imagined but still totally gorgeous. I havent seen anything like it and this is where some of the pictures i have put on facebook came from. We were really lucky with the weather as it rained solidly for two weeks before being sunny since i got here (i take full credit for that!) Anyway in the evening I went out with the guys and girls from my room (102) and the other room (105). It's such a lovely friendly hostel i have made so many friends so quickly. What is also nice is that everyone looks out for each other but because me and Thereasa are both girls travelling alone, the guys especially look out for us - they are all really decent so no need to worry!! Chat soon i hope you're all ok xxx
