Hi guys,

Had a couple of days just chilling and going out in the evenings (am not getting much sleep!) the hostel is great because in the basement they have a bar which they run. Perfect for not wanting to go too far but still having a good night out. The only thing is the cost of the drinks! Sydney honestly makes London look cheap you wouldn't believe it. They have "scooners" out here which are 2/3 of a pint (if they drank a whole pint it would get warm too quickly here) and for a pint of "tubers" which is about the same as fosters, you're paying 5.20 dollars :O Anyway, went into the cbd of the city today which is a popular area for chilling out in there is a food court that does any take away you can imagine; chinese, indian, vietnamese, thai its great! I am literally in heaven as its cheap food as well so i grabbed a few different things and went with Toby to sit out and eat whilst we realised there was a buddhist festival going on - was awesome with all the lanterns and candles and things so we sat in the sun and ate our food watching that. What i love about Sydney is that you can walk most places, they are quite close by, and also there is always something going on somewhere - that's free! Budgeting is becomming so important here - whilst it would be nice to go out to eat every night i can't but am having fun learning the different foods from the different nearby countries. There are so many people from asia here as its so close but it makes the city really multi-cultural as well as meaning i can go get noodles at 3am whenever i want PERFECT! Managed to have both my travelcard and bank card accounts blocked in the same day - stupid companies so that is a bit worrying - as i don't have much money on me but everyone is helping out so hopefully should be sorted soon! Headed out to the side bar again which is always a good night out and then stayed up to watch the sun rise over darling harbour - one of the most beautiful things i have seen here yet.
