Today we have had a busy busy day, it's our last day in Dubai :( and we have been everywhere!!!! Or what feels like everywhere.... Our feet are aching so much that I'm going to get jess to give me a foot massage when we get in.
We got the metro down to the beach, and saw the Burj al Arab, we were led on the beach in beautiful sunshine only to have it start raining!!! Can you believe it? Dubai where it's meant to hardly ever rain, has rained for 2 days out of our 4 day stay. I had my jumper wrapped round my head as a turban so that my hair didn't get wet... We also had our first disturbing experience with public loos. Basically if your in Dubai don't use the ones at jumeriah beach. Me and jess have never gagged so much in our lives....
eurgh *puke* I can't even begin to describe the scene to you.... And to be honest your better off not knowing!
So we walked to the mall of emirates where we got to see ski Dubai. It's a winter wonderland Inside the shopping mall with everything from tobogganing and bum boarding to igloos, wood cabins, festive bars and ski lifts!!! If we ever come here on holiday we want to do that. We also went in a toy shop where there was a huge giraffe which jess could actually fit under, a collection of polly pockets (which are now not so much pocket sized and more bag sized- are pockets getting bigger? Or should they reconsider their brand name?) and finally my personal favourite a Will and Kate wedding Barbie. Being the royalist that I am this was the ultimate!
We then got a cup of tea from Starbucks as it had free wifi and had to do some planning for Thailand and mainly Cambodia. ;) can't believe we're flying somewhere new tomorrow and not home.
We then went down to the Dubai mall. There's a 500ft water fountain which goes off every 30 mins. The fountain basically dances to music. We watched two shows tonight and the second show was timed to the song I will always love you by Whitney Houston!!! We then went and had a nosey round sega world - an indoor theme park and saw the waterfall and ice rink all of which were inside the mall.
Dubai is such a fascinating and beautiful place. The architecture is gorgeous, everything is clean and sparkles, everyone always tries to help you, and although we haven't had great weather it's always warm. There are so many things to do and see and I think we will both be sad to say goodbye.
Night to you all. Let another chapter start tomorrow.
Peace and love kim and jess xo
