Ho Chi Minh city
Last night was in our hostel, it isnt exactly the best in fact it may
be slightly worse than the last one. There is a hole in the bathroom
door and my bed is on the floor.
Today was our first day in Vietnam, so we spent it walking around
getting our bearings.
First we walked to the Ben thanh Market. It was quite big but was more
full on than the rest we have been to. The sales women kept grabbing
our arms to try get us to look at their stalls. There was also another
confusion with money as some things seemed to be really expensive, but
still cheap in our standards.
Later we went to the war remnants museum which was quite interesting
however it was quite busy which made it hard to look arround at your
own pace. Some of the things that I found shocking were one that they
sprayed the people with intoxicides which effected them as well as
future generations. (they had lots a conjoined babies which had died
on display which wasn't pretty) the second thing that got me was the
photos taken from photo journalists who had been killed by the
communist Vietnamese .
Later we went for a frappé and for dinner, I had the nicest dinner of
pesto pasta as I have been craving pesto for all the time we have been here.
Tomorrow we are staying round the city again as Ally is coming and I
need to pick up my new glasses.
