Greetings from Cambodia! Kratie, to be more precise- it's great! Found a guest house that has awesome western and Khmer food, and great people. And the room is 4 quid! We have spent the last three evenings getting royally larrupped (well, kieran was) with the propietor Andrew and some fellow guests.
The highlights:
Dolphin spotting, very peaceful and pretty successful!
Trekking up a Buddhist temple mountain. At the top was a nun who shouted to us in Cambodian- you two have big noses! What are the chances?
The Cambodian people- literally everone shouts hello to you and waves, very friendly.
Kieran's special highlight:
Kieran today played an 11-a-side football match with a bunch of Cambodians. None of the team spoke English but the language of football was sufficient- he notched a brace in a closely-fought 2-1 victory, in front of a 50-strong whooping, cheering crowd. Afterwards he was asked more than once if he was a professional!
Emma's special highlight;
Seeing new born puppies today on the island of Trong. She is seriously considering a travel puppy.
Lowlight:
It has come to light that all our wonderful photos of the beautiful Laos countryside are actually crap. Our landscape function was unfortunately set to the small picture option, so they are rubbish when viewed on a big screen. Devo'd.
We had some wacko Yank missionaries in the hotel yesterday. For a laugh, four of us decided to visit the festival they were holding down the road. There was no laugh; the way they were brainwashing the locals with fake 'miracles' and scaring them with tales of hell made for uncomfortable viewing. Quite an experience.
Finally, we are sad to have left Laos, an amazing country with unbelievable scenery, wonderful friendly, relaxed people and still largely unspoiled by tourism. But Cambodia seems like it will be just as good. We leave for Phnom Penh tomorrow.

Phil I'll pass your name to Nige, Kieran, we're looking for a replacement for Waghorn. Our boys only managed a draw this evening against the colonials, felt sorry for Green though and all to fight for. Hope Emma is allowing you some footy (spectator) time. Take care.
suzy Sounds like you're having quite a time - cheeky old nun - what was she doing up the mountain anyway? Got a famous footie player in the family have we now then? You were lucky to find a bar to watch the England game - did you manage to stay up and watch 'til the end.
Max Great blogs kids. Keep them coming. The kieren profesional thing made me laugh out loud.
Kieran Phil- I wouldn't play for the Foxes in a million years! I don't agree with their style of play and I wouldn't want to play in any stadium named after crisps! I got up at 1am to watch the England match, wish I'd not bothered. Have your boys signed anyone good? Mum- yes somehow stayed up til the end, had to get back up at 6am for the bus as well! Wasn't a happy traveller. Max- I don't know why you find that bit funny.
