Emma:
Well, I just wrote a long blog entry and something happened and it deleted itself. I'm not going to lie, I'm gutted.
Anyway, some good news finally -
Our flight was on time and arrived EARLY!
The weather is fantastic (no sand storms this time!)
Spent the last two days galavanting around and kipping.
To summarise :
We arrived early morning, had a kip and then Barbara took us to a champagne lunch in a revolving restaurant overlooking Abu Dhabi - what a brilliant way to kick off the holiday! The champagne was the best I've ever tasted though there's a possibility it was watered down because I was still upright about about 5 glasses! I doubt they'd do that in a 5 star hotel though so I must just be good at drinking a lot.............
We've visited the Grand Mosque where I was told off and not allowed onto the grounds because I had a knee length skirt on. Barbara had to run up to the entrance and get me a Thawb (just Googled that word!). Anyway, I kept falling around all over the place in it, far too long! I don't like to complain though, it was interesting. It holds 40,000 people apparently. Though Kieran is amadmant that I told him it was 400,000 on the plane. Definitely didn't! (maybe I did!).
Also visited Emirates Palace to look at the plans for the new Cultural Island, have a look here if you don't have a life http://www.saadiyat.ae/en/ - it's called Happy Island and they're planning on part of it being a safe haven for turtle breeding (bet that makes Rosie click!)
We then went to look at some Islamic Embroidery, which Kieran was WELL excited about.
Other activities include - swimming, drinking and eating.
Kieran's just having a kip next to me and making some odd noises, he must be dreaming of elephants because it sounds like he's trying to communicate with them in his sleep!
Heading to Bangkok tomorrow, better go iron our red tshirts.

Sue Latham Sounds like you're getting you holiday off to a fantastic start, the champagne in fancy restaurant sounds fab!! Giggled about Kieran chatting to the Elephants - hope they weren't chasing him. Hope Chang Mai is ready for you two to arrive!! Looking forward to hearing more ......
