So I arrived in London in one piece and so did my bag for which i'm greatful! The flight wasn't bad at all and i slept most of the way including take off on the second flight... one of my many talents. On the second flight I met a Thai girl named Yuki who was sitting next to me and spending 2 weeks with a host family while doing a course.

When we arrived, I bought a 3 day travel pass and jumped on a tube to go to my hostel and because of track works a 15 minute trip ended up taking abour 1 1/2 hours. I ended up having to get off the train and change about 3 times and then because the station i needed was closed in the direction i needed so i had to go to the next stop the catch the train back to my stop... back to go forwards, just like Sydney public trasport so i'm feeling right at home!! Anyway, I found the hostel ok, dumped my bags and set out exploring...

My first stop was to go to Portobello markets but somehow ended up at Harrods instead... it didn't open till 10 so wandered around for a while taking photos and trying to sort out my phone thats not working and then went into have a look. Later I found the markets, kensington high street and did some more sightseeing... i jumped on a double decker bus and was lucky enough that it basically went along the tourist route... so that was good. I spent a fair bit of the day dozing on the bus and tube but was determined to stay awake enough not to get jetlaged.

Got back to the hostel at about 5 (already dark!) and checked in. muddled around a bit and was asleep without eating dinner by about 6:30

Yesturday i got up and went to check out Lester square amd walked to Picadilly Circus. I walked around there for a while and through soho and across to covent garden. I watched them putting great big snowflakes in the bare trees and ate lunch while listening to this man playing some kind of mega pipe thing which sounded really nice. Later i went to Oxford street and checked out some of the shops and christmas decorations. By now it was raining so packed it in for the day and went back to the hostel... oh and mum, that umbrella i should have brought? Yeah, I should have brought it..

Anyway... just got online to enrol in uni for next year and its currently 2:42 in the morning so i'm going back to bed...

I'd forgotten how English it was over here... yes yes... I know i'm blonde!
