Well sorry for the delay, this blog is not high on the agenda at the moment as you can imagine, I'm not going to sit typing while I can be out experiancing more. But thats not the main problem right not as you'll read.
I don't think I would recommend moing from an area of about 200 metres above sea level to an area of about 3000 metres above sea level, well not in an hour anyway. Didn't sleep much last night and not been too well today adjusting to altitude, for me atleast, seems a bit hard. Angela seems only mildly affected but both of us don't have much spring in our step still. Apart from flu symtums altitude also affects your general fitness levels due to the much thiner air around here. For example, at home you would think nothing of running across the road or just a quick jump up on to the pathment. Here till we are adjusted that leaves us slightly out of breath as if we had run up a flight of steps.
But to the Jungle experiance, I try to take day by day but the main idea of this trip is to experiance what it's like to live in a rain forest. Each day contained trips out to parts of the rain forest, this often involed walking for 30 to 60 mins there and back, and often a boat ride up or down the Tamboparta river. Meals were well organised and always included local produce and always stuff I had neer heard of including types of fruit. At most at meal time the were perhaps 30 people in the lodge but trips where smaller parties. In our case we were a little unlucky as our guild went ill on arrial meaning for some trips we had to join in with a group of Dutch people (more on them later). All in all our UK group consistend of just five people, two couples and one lady who although married could persuade her husbend to come with here (odd I know but there you go).
