Kevin and Joannie on tour
We said goodbye to our apartment of over a week and drove back to San Rafael, which is about 2 and a half hours away. On the way we day the detector tanks which have been put out in the desert to try and capture cosmic rays. the whole project is based at the Pierre Auger Observatory in Malargue.

For the first time, the roads were wet with rain. Alongside the road was the remains of an old railway. We arrived back at san Rafael with almost four hours to go before boarding. There is only one flight a day in and out and the staff turn up around 2. It was interesting watching them turn up and change into their uniforms.
The snack bar was open so we passed some time drinking a local red wine and talking to the owner who was very proud of a whalebone he had on display.
Just before boarding a chap turned up to pick up the HiLux. He kept asking if we had damaged the car, which we hadn't, but suspected he would try and fleece us later (which he did! Now under investigation.)
Back after a short flight to Buenos Aires, the heat was extraordinary. We ate dinner at a roadside restaurant in Palermo and were curious about the hand carts we saw young men pushing, piled up with what looked like rubbish. Whatever they were doing, it seemed very gruelling work.
We were also glad to hear that Sue Statter had won the Bolsover by-election and raised a glass to her.
