Up at 6am and ready for a journey that see us travelling to NE of the county's to the Perhitian Islands. Only a 50 min flight from the capital we arrive at Kota Bhura, from there we jump in a taxi and prepare oursrlved for the 60 to 90 min drive in an in condition car in 32 degree heat. Well that's how long it takes some, because our cabbie was the Maylasian equivalent of Mark Webber and seldomly drove below 100 /hr. We were at our ferry terminal in 40 mins with a good 90 min wait to the next ferry.
The 30 min ferry ride was fairly tame but full of excitement knowing that we are going to be staying on a tropical island for 6 nights (Some what slightly different to Jersey, as the only thing tropical on jersey is a Portuguese restaurant!!!)
On arrival to our resort we greeted by another boat who takes us back to shore in which we a greeted by a South African fella named Rylan who has been working at the resort for 4 days! So it's the blind leading the blind really.
Our resort consists of 5 double bedded chalets all no further than 50 meters from the beach. They are basic but cozy with no electricity from 0700 to 18.30, a mozzie net over the bed and a small fan to keep us cool at night.
With the beach so close and the mercury busting out at 30+ we hit the water snorkelling around for the next hour or so before hitting the hammocks for a wee siesta (well that what Claire did, I spent 2 b@£*ard hours trying to put my hammock up! :( )
We meet the other residents at the cafe which consist of 4 Germans and 4 Frogs - heaps of craic there.... Not!
