I know, we have been in England for 4 and half months and the most we saw of London has been the bus station and the airports, we suck. We finally changed that around when, Kels, Louise, and I hopped on a bus to get there! Erika, Emmitt, and Carson also came along, but they had their own agenda. We all walked to Buckingham Palace together and then parted ways. We bought a bus pass for the day for 26 pounds, kinda pricey but when in London right? Sure. Our first stop was Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. I must admit, Ben really disappointed me. I think I just figured it would be so much bigger, thanks movies for making me believe that. We crossed the river and saw how much the London Eye would cost. We declined that and got back on the bus to take us past St. Paul's Cathedral, across London Bridge, and to Tower Bridge. London Bridge is just that, a bridge, disappointing as well. =/ Tower Bridge was pretty. It's a shade of blue called peacock and it's a great color if you ask me.
We stopped to eat and try to get a bit warmer. After that we went to check out Shakespear's Globe Theatre. We just missed a show but chances are it would have been full anyways. Louise and I bought something, go figure. After that, it was time for the long bus ride to the Natural History Museum. In all honesty, we probably should have gone into a different one, but this way I was able to see all these animals...even though they were dead...and stuffed... But it was a pretty long bus ride and my lack of sleep the night before caused me to take a little nap on the bus. I've pretty much perfected that trait. As we were leavin the museum, Carson tells me tha they will be at Abbey Road in about 45 minutes.
So we catch a bus, walk, catch another bus, and then buy a metro ticket to meet them. We get there and go to take a picture but are surrounded with other people trying to do the same and cars that kept coming. If I were them, I would do whatever I could to avoid that road. We got that done fairly quickly. Instead of catching about 4 different buses, we took the metro back and it basically took no time! We got to the coach station, grabbed some food and then was ready to go back home. I had done the online purchasing of the tickets, and I guess I selected the wrong time for Kelsie's...oops, luckily the driver let her on and the bus didn't fill up. Otherwise I would be the one sitting in London for probably 3 more hours! We slept on the way home and finally got back to Pittville around 11. A long and tiring day, but it was out last hurrah here. =/
