Hello! Today is July 16 and I am still in Paris, France. It is cooler here today (finally!!!) and I have exciting news!
My last blog was July 14, Bastille Day, so I will start there.
After my last blog we went to the nearby super market and bought crackers, cookies, snacks and wine and we headed for the Eiffel Tower! The metro was super busy and there were people everywhere! We picked a nice spot right by the tower in some shade and started eating and drinking.
There was music playing so we left the boys at our spot and Morgan, Joni and I checked out the music. We heard Promicuous Girl playing, and yes Dayle, I saw Nelly Furtado in concert for free right by the Eiffel Tower! She did a few songs in front of the huuuuggggge crowd. There had to be a million people there!
After listening to Nelly Furtado we took lots of pictures by the tower and goofed around. Morgan and Ryan wanted me to take pictures of them by the tower and before I knew it Ryan was down on his knee proposing to Morgan! Morgan totally didnt believe him and I was totally shocked too! Everyone around us started cheering for them. Of course Morgan said yes!
Then the amazing fireworks show started. Corey has some awesome videos from it. It was funny because they used music from Star Wars and Mission Impossible...the US controls the music and movies everywhere!
We celebrated their engagement that night with wine and late phone calls to Morgans family.
On the 15th we took the train to Versailles - which is like the huge castle/home of the French Kings and Queens from long ago. It was a very fancy place! We had to wait in line outside for two hours to get in and the place inside was packed with rude tourists. We were excited to leave that place!
After Versailles we took a nap and then went out for dinner. We found a place for a three course meal for 16 euros (i didnt order the 14 euro beer this time!) Dinner was great and I had the salmon! I ate fish, Tim!
We were totally exhausted last night and crashed early. The temp of our hotel room last night was 85 degrees. I cant wait for air conditioning!
Today we went to the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa and tons of other art. We didnt really know what we were looking at!
Continued...
Corey, Morgan and I entertained ourselves by jumping from air conditioner to air conditioner in the Louvre. Probably not appropriate but it was fun.
Next we went to a flea market that was supposed to be the most famous flea market in the world. Basically it was all the same s***. Corey bought jeans and had to try them on next to a creep white van. Funny!
Morgan and Ryan wanted to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower for pictures...I was tired and Corey and I decided to go back to the hotel and relax. We stopped at the grocery store and bought a box of popsicles and ate them all (it was hot outside). The whole group went out for a cheap dinner then Morgan and Ryan had to leave to catch their train to Rome. We will meet up with them again in London on Sunday.
The four of us watched a movie on Jonis iPod last night. The screen was tiny but it was nice to finally see a movie! Went to bed early!
