Ok, so I have totally sucked at blogging lately. Today is July 14, the independance day for France. I will back up a couple days now...
July 12 we were in Munich. We started the day with shopping and I bought a dress and a couple shirts on sale. After shopping we went to Dachau....which is one of the concentration camps from the Holocaust. That was a sad trip but it was a good experience.
After Dachau we toured the Olympic Stadium from like the 1980 something summer Olympics. That was neat.
Then we went to the post office and I mailed a box of souveniers home!
We settled down for a quick nap and then got ready for dinner. We went to a different beer garden that night and I had some awesome food and beer! I thought we were going to lose weight on this trip? haha
July 13 we woke up at 4 am and got on a train to the airport. Our flight left Munich around 7 am and we arrived in Paris at 8. We tried checking into our hotel but we were too early so we found a laundry mat!!! Clean clothes!!!! Joni and I taught Corey how to do laundry...it was his first time!!!
Joni and I walked to the nearest grocery store to find some snacks and waters. While we were shopping we found Morgan and her boyfriend, Ryan. We were so excited to finally see some familiar faces!
Morgan and Ryan did some laundry, too. Finally we checked into our hotel and Joni and I moved our luggage into our room. The rooms are decent but there is no air conditioning and it is very hot here!
We celebrated finally being together with champagne and a quick nap! Then I showered and got ready and we left for the Arc d Triumph. We also went to the top of the Arc and got a great view of the city!
After seeing the Arc we went to the Eiffel Tower and took tons of pictures. We found a place to eat by the tower and Joni and I shared the steak special and Morgan, Ryan, and I ordered the large beer. We didnt know until the bill arrived that our beers were 14 euros...about 21 US dollars. s***. We made sure we finished those beers!
After dinner we all hung out in Joni and my room sharing funny stories about our trips. Fun!
Today is July 14. we finally slept in today and then we visited Notre Dame. We also did some shopping in Paris and I found some really great gifts for some of you!!! I might be borrowing them though :)
Tonight we are going to watch fireworks by the Eiffel Tower. Talk to you again soon!
Oh, here are a few things I miss...
Family, friends, Tim, ice cubes, my cell phone, keyboards from the US, and air conditioning!
