Ok, so I'm officially crap at this! Can't believe it's already been a month since the last one. Just so's you know I'm still alive and still loving Australia, it's going to be really hard to move on from Brisbane when I finish working here at the end of Sept, I've made some really good friends here.

I went down the coast to Surfers Paradise last weekend, on Sunday, after two good nights trying out some bars in the city on Friday and Saturday. Everyone (Australians included) went on about how rubbish Surfers is before I went but I wanted to go anyway, to make sure I tick it off my to-do list if nothing else. It was actually pretty nice, I am sure there are nicer beaches along the coast in Queensland but it was great to get to a beach, went in the sea and it's not even cold yet :) there's lots of shops and bars and is known as the Australian equivalent of Malibu - I have some pics but not uploaded them yet.

I'm glad I made to to the beach last weekend, it has done nothing but rain this week! Ad when it rains here it absolutely buckets down. To put how much into context - the 10 year drought has been officially ended despite one of the main water pipes bursting on Monday losing 60 olympic size swimming pools of drinking water! A lot of the suburbs have been flooded quite badly (they even cancelled home and away on thurs night for a special news report -argh!!! how dare they!) but luckily for me not the city, and even so I'd be pretty damn unlucky for it to reach the 42nd floor :)

So......I can't think of much else to say for now but I will try to get better and add more to this blog next weekend.

Finally the rain has stopped - hurrah! Not that I get to appreciate the sunshine when I'm sat in the office but it might mean I get to do something this weekend! There's a classic car show on locally that I'm hoping to head to, yes for the minis, I've found that there is a mini owners club that meets around Brisbane and I want to find out when/where the meet but the website doesn't give much away apart from them being at the Mt Cootha Classic on this Sat and Sun and it will be something to do for the day too even though it won't make up for missing all the mini 50 events this year in England :(

I'll make sure I take lots of photos to put them up on here, and I must remember to bring my camera with me to the library to upload the Surfers Paradise photos (mental note!)

Calm has resumed this week since I have only been doing my own job at work. I girl I work alongside went off to Bali for 10 days so I had the lucky task of picking up her job after about 2 weeks of starting at the company and learning my job - a pretty steep learning curve - but a came out the other side unscathed, pretty much. Apart from last Friday messing up a few little payments (yep, they left me able to set up payments from their many bank accounts the silly people) and taking money from people's bank accounts instead of paying their winnings into their account. Oops. Don't think the man who won $25,000 was very happy! It's been a whole week so I can laugh about it now :) and I still have a job!!!

Already started planning what I'm going to do for my birthday weekend even though it's still 4 weeks away! The company I work for have an end of financial year party which just happens to be at the end of June!! Its 5-7pm on Fri 26th and I happened to notice on the email that food and alcoholic beverages will be provided! I like :). What a perfect start to the weekend.And of course I have made sure I have got the Monday off. I'm a bit dubious of how weird it will be without everyone from home still nonetheless.
