Oh what a beautiful trip it has been! 25 hours after leaving Yap we arrived and were all set to relax by the pool or maybe a stroll down main street as we stayed in this town during our Honeymoon ten years ago. Oh but you can never go back they say and boy were the right.
We stayed in the same class room as we did on our last visit here and sure we have gained weight me more than Joy but we did not get any taller. The bed was a queen size that looked like it had been cut in half (see pictures). So after a long night we pulled up camp and headed north to a new room and attitude. The new place in on the water and nice.Anyway after carrying on about the room for 30 minutes we walked downtown to find a huge cruise ship unloading passengers and the town was swamped and my favorite Lahina resturant "Cheesebuger in Paradise" had an hour long wait. We were here during the off (June)season last time so that may too have something to do with the crowds. Okay enough comparing.
We did the west island road thursday and it is a great drive wish we had a Porche as it is fun flying through the turns. Got a great sunset and went back to the room for some pizza. Friday was drive to Hana day so we left late as we had to abandon our present room in favor of the new one. Drive out was as great as I remember but the road was damaged in the 2006 earthquake and has yet to reopen so you now have to turn around and go back the way you came.On all our drives the Whales are present from the car as dozens breech the water and blow air. Saturday there are no cruise ships in town so we are taking the Pacific Whale Foundation tour out to see them up close.I have already cleared the card so I hope for many pictures. Anyway its getting late so I will close. The internet is lighting fast so I should be able to get the pictures up fast.Till then "Mahalo" P.S. Hi Rigbie!
