So headed out of Luang Prabang to the border which would take two days on a slow boat. Didnt realise that it was literally two days, thought it would have abeen a few hours with a stopover in a town.

The first day was 9.5 hours on a boat which was fine as there was lots of room and the views on the mekong were beatuful. lots of limestone everywhere.

howeber by the time we got to Pakbeng it was after sunset and we were hungry as hadnt taken much on the boat to eat.

eventaully arrived and then walked about looking for accommodation, found a place but it was horrid, but would do for one night.

However the next day seeing Pakbeng during the day was amazing, there were huts on the side of the mountains which was beautiful.
