Another lovely day in Cuzco. The weather has been so spectacular here each day, we've been so lucky. It looked like t-storms in the forecast all week but it has been surprisingly sunny and quite warm!
After a leisurely breakfast, we headed out to meet up with Burrill and Courtney in Plaza des Armas. We went with them to visit our tour agent friend; we finally and officially booked our trip to Machu Picchu. We head to Aguas Calientes on Friday, and up to MP on Saturday. We also signed up to climb Wayna Picchu, the mountain at MP. This somewhat terrifies me because I still feel winded even climbing a few stairs up to our hostel!
We wandered around a bit with B and C and visited the local market. Courtney and I both bought awesome alpaca sweaters - and I still can't believe how reasonable it is to shop here - the hand made sweaters cost 27 soles, or 10 dollars! Alpaca wool is so soft and all the colours they use are so vibrant and pretty.
After wandering around the city a bit, we had lunch at a great little cafe (I had amazing broccoli soup, but there was definitely an avacado salad being had at our table!) Our afternoon was pretty relaxed - we headed back to our hostel to chill and research our next step - traveling into Bolivia.
We met back up with Burrill and Courtney for dinner and headed to a pizzeria that also served traditional Peruvian dishes. Burrill and Courtney seem to know all the great places to eat! We had amazing pizza and the boys ordered alpaca kebobs (which we all ended up trying). I thought it was pretty okay, but the boys definitely enjoyed it! Mark and I seem to have a difference of opinion here - he thinks alpacas make nice steaks and I think they make nice sweaters! (Mark admits he likes the sweaters too. Courtney and I are trying to talk the boys into sweaters with little alpacas knit into them....such a good Christmas sweater!)
After dinner, Mark and I headed back to La Piccola Locanda and had an epic skype chat with Kaila, Mom and Dad. It was so nice to catch up fully and hear what's going on at home.

KrisMac What an awesome skype chat! Still smiling : )
Lisa Maybe there can be some skyping going on here on Sunday while we're all here for Thanksgiving.
Matt what a wonderful animal -- kebobs, cheese and clothes!
