Hiya
This is out last blog entry as I leave for England tomorrow (Cairns- Melbourne, Melbourne- Singapore, Singapore- Dubai, Dubai- London, London- home!). Loads has happened since we last updated you, so, in brief. Left Mission on Friday - the place is just gorgeous. On the day following our skydive we wlaked along the beach and picked up some coconuts and sat and watched the next group land.
Got the bus up to Carins. It was our final time on the Oz bus so there was a bit of a party atmosphere- KARAOKE!! On the way we stopped at this croc farm. We met a real life Steve Irwin. He was really odd and kept wacking these massive crocs on the head with this rake. There were loads of other animals there aswell and he kept trying to make Emily hold a snake/ spider/lizard. I didn't mind them, but the dingo pups, emus, kangaroos and cassorwaries were quite scary!!
Got to Cairns and checked into this really nice hostel with our own room. Meet up with all the other people off the bus on the evening and got loads of free drinks and really good food. Had very little sleep but got up on Sat to go white water rafting- it was awesome. The rapids were grade 4 and they were really fast and we got completely soaked. In the end we just went swimming which was really cool cause you just floated down stream with the current. It wasn't until the end that the guide told us that was where the English teacher died lasty month (sorry Mum and Dad). Slept all the way back on the bus and got ready and went straight out to meet the others of the bus. We watched the boro and England rugby game at midnight- it was very surreal because it ust felt like we were bach home. Got back very late (again), and caught the bus very early to go snorkeling on thr Great Barrier Reef.
This was the most amazing thing I have ever done. The water was so warm and clear nad the reef was really shallow. We were both completely taken away by it, it was soooooooooooo good. We also got a trip in a glass bottom boat so we could see quite abit more. There were these giant clams and just the most beautiful fish ever.
On monday we had to get up early (again) to go to Cape Tribulation. This is north of Carins and is where the reef meets the Daintree rainforest (it's the only place in the world that there are two world heritage sites next to each other). On the way up we had a tour along the Daintree river on a crocodile trip.We saw 3 crocs which was really cool and the water was really murky and scary. We also had a walk guided walk through the rainforest which was really cool.
Ems will take over tomorrow- got to go
Love you
