Hello friends and family,

Well we made it to Thailand in one piece even if we are absolutely knackered! It's taking us a bit to get used to the heat as it's like an oven when you step out of the nice air conditioned airport!

Our flight was fine, the woman sitting in front of us was sick on the head of the guiy in front of her but we managed to miss any vomit! apart from that we managed a few hours sleep in between katherine's swollen ankles and even managed to watch a film. We even had a thai curry which was quite nice!

We had a bit of a scare when we got to baggage reclaim because someone else had the same backpack as me (Sarah) and they had put my tag on Katherine's backpack but after a few tense moments it turned up. We managed to get a taxi with no problems - think we got a bit ripped off but by this time we were too tired to care! We then had to walk to the hostel and got totally lost and had to get help from a Thai and Belgium guy but eventually made it and had a shower and now we're exploring the night market here in Khao San Road.

First impressions of Bangkok are pretty good! We were expecting quite a lot of hassle from people trying to sell us stuff but thankfully they seem to take no for an answer. It's a really chilled atmosphere around here too which is nice but we think we'll have to learn to slow down to the Thai pace!

Not sure what our plans for tomorrow are at the moment - we're on our way back to the hostel now to plan and then - most importantly - sleep!
