Hey everyone! I'm in Hanoi, and it's raining. A lot. In fact it's been raining torrentially for about 5 days now - during our whole time in Hong Kong, a nasty flight to Vietnam, and our time here. But we're determined not to let it bother us, so we've just booked a two day boat tour to Halong Bay, which could be very interesting if the weather stays like this. We're all adjusting to travelling without our big group, and staying in a whole new country, but I think we're doing fine. Staying in a huge dorm in a funky little hostel in the Old Quarter, which is a lot of fun. People here all really lovely, and it's nice meeting new faces. Today we went and saw Ho Chi Min's embalmed body. Was so odd. He just looked asleep. Then we went for a long walk around the town and for lunch at a restaurant called Koto, where all proceeds go to educating street kids. Good food too. Tomorrow we're heading off to Halong Bay (hopefully), and then back to Hanoi on Saturday to see the famous Water Puppets. Flying to Hoi An on Sunday morning because it was pretty much the same price as a 15 hour train journey. Ooooh...a break in the rain. Must go take advantage. Love to all. xxxxx
