Well.. turns out the Sun was just playing around with me and I was so determined to sit on a beach that I did and fell asleep. I was awoken by that pesky sun and applied another layer of sunscreen. That naughty sun had other plans and kicked my ass!

So to recover from my sun damage, I wandered the Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade and went shopping... not good form for my first day....

And headed to Santa Monica Pier to be amused by the 3D photos and plaster pictures of your face... and of course Bubba Gumps!

I have to say that Santa Monica Beach is like a Baywatch episode and I had to refrain from doing the slow run down the beach (mainly because it burnt the soles of my feet!)

Now in San Diego where I'm overwhelmed by the number of geeks in one city... it's Comic Con weekend and the Geeks are out in force with their light sabers and costumes. Hoping to get down there and check it out but think I have a snow balls chance in hell!
