Q'town, this is gonna be the long blog. I arrived in Queenstown on the 7th and don't leave until the 12th, however, the past three days have already been worthy enough of their own blog. The 7th was pretty chilled, went for a slap up meal and cheap drinks all night courtesy of kiwi experience! Went to some interesting little bars and had good chats before retiring a little bit early for my impending bungy jump the next morning. Slept very little as might be expected due to a combination of alcohol and nerves. Checked in for the bungy at 11.30 but (just to exacerbate the nerves) the drive takes 45 mins! I did feel very queasy and shaky in the lead up to it but funnily enough when I was stood on the edge all I wanted to do was jump! And so I did. What an incredible feeling - complete adrenalin! If you are not completely terrified of heights I would recommend you give it a go, nothing beats the feeling afterwards. I was on the best buzz and still am a day later! Today I awoke to pouring rain once again. I had planned on giving the Ben Lomond summit a go but wasn't sure how things would pan out. The rain eased off so I took off at about 10.30 not knowing much about the trek ahead. It was not easy at all but the views at the summit were phenomenal, delighted I didn't miss out on that! It seems I have some sort of weather fairy following me because the minute I descended the clouds started getting really thick and lots of people were turning back. After returning bones aching and absolutely shattered I have looked up Ben Lomond only to discover it's 1000 metres higher than anything I've climbed before! Lucky I didn't know that before I set out..
